DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION:
The male pelvis in which the relationships of the bladder,
rectum, and the prostate are clearly seen. The retropubic space,
just behind the pubic symphysis, can also be seen. The space in
front of the bladder is free of large vessels and nerves, and
the bladder does not adhere to the anterior wall of the body.
This fact allows the surgeon to enter this space, retract the
bladder, and access the prostate gland. The prostate is situated
at the neck (the outflow) of the bladder.
