DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION: A posterior view of the abdominal wall as it would be seen by a surgeon using laparoscopic techniques. Note the deep inguinal ring and the structures that pass to and from it, the bladder, and the nerves, especially the iliohypogastric, genitofemoral ilioinguinal, femoral, and lateral femoral cutaneous. The various ligaments that are used by laparoscopic surgeons for landmarks include the median umbilical ligament, the medial umbilical ligament, and the lateral umbilical ligament. These are not shown here, but the structures that they cover, the urachus, the obliterated umbilical artery, and the inferior epigastric arteries are shown.
