DESCRIPTION:
The duodenum is the shortest and the first part of the small
intestine. Note that the duodenum receives the bile duct and the
pancreatic duct. The duodenum begins just after the thick
sphincter of the stomach outlet. It then partially enfolds the
head of the pancreas in a C-shape.
