DESCRIPTION:
Diagram of the heart during a contraction. Note the normal
unimpeded flow of blood. Lung disease causes resistance to this
flow. Resistance to blood flow into the lungs causes the right
side of the heart to enlarge. It then becomes a less effective
pump.
