DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION:
The head of the humerus is a half sphere that glides quite
freely on the slight concavity of the scapular glenoid surface.
When healthy, both the head of the humerus and the glenoid
cavity are covered with hyaline cartilage. This cartilage is
smooth and glassy to provide relatively friction-free surfaces
for the parts of the joint.
