DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION: Fracture site on the parietal bone with epidural hematoma. The blood is from the middle meningeal artery and veins, which run between the skull and the coverings of the brain. The expanding pool of blood has compressed the brain tissue toward the midline by pushing inward on the dura mater, the outer layer of the brain coverings.
