DESCRIPTION:
Extraocular (outside of the eyeball) muscles of the right eye
and their nerve supply. The trochlear nerve is the smallest
cranial nerve. It innervates only one of the muscles that move
the eye. If this nerve is injured or destroyed, the superior
oblique muscle of the opposite eye is paralyzed. The patient
will have double vision, called diplopia, but only when looking
downward.
