ILLUSTRATION NUMBER: 11-04MEV-L6

DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION: The base of the brain. The frontal, temporal, and occipital lobes are seen. The anterior aspect of the brain stem can now be observed. Note the cranial nerves (not labeled) that project from the brain stem. The blood supply to the brain is featured in this drawing. The two vertebral arteries come together to form the basilar artery. This artery and the two internal carotid arteries form the circle of Willis from which branch the major arteries to the cortex.
