DESCRIPTION:
Posterior view of the bladder with the ureter and urethra as
well as the male sex glands. The male urethra is somewhat
unprotected after it leaves the prostate, and it is often
injured at this point by so-called “straddle injuries,” or by
improper insertion of urinary catheters (plastic tubes that hold
the urethra open for the drainage of urine). The most common
urinary problem in men is caused by overgrowth of the prostate
gland.
