DETAIL:

DESCRIPTION:
A sagittal section through the female pelvis. The bladder is
located behind the pubis. The fluid in the ureters flows into
the urinary bladder, which is located behind and fixed to the
back of the pubic bones. When it is full, this smooth muscular
sac contracts to expel urine. Some voluntary control of flow is
possible, since the urethra, the outflow tube, is partly
encircled by muscle.
